Get on the Bedtime Bus!

I totally fell for this wonderfully charming and peaceful poster: the Bedtime Bus Roll Poster. From the first stop to a snoozy final destination - this poster is so typography-forward and clean cut. What a refreshing way to add a bit of humorous decor to your child's bedroom or nursery! And the best part is, they can tweak the "stops" a bit to fit your child's schedule! Ahh, the simple bliss of routine... :) Bedtime Bus Roll Poster, $24.00

Jeggings go Potty

Turns out the "jegging"-trend is useful for more than just comfortable baby jean options; it's the perfect DIY potty pants! When potty training a toddler (especially a younger one!) pants that they can pull down and up on their own is the number one essential! Not too keen on completely forfeiting Freida's jean options, I picked up a pair of Levi jeggings ($10) and now I'm totally hooked! She can pull them down with ease (no snaps, buttons, or zippers), and pull them right back up - properly - on her own. Potty-training is enough of a bother for a toddler - feeling inadequate about getting their pants up shouldn't be part of the process... Believe it or not, people tell me "I love her little skinny jeans!" without realizing they are knit leggings. Super-comfy, cuper-cute - even for pre-potty rugrats!

(We slightly paused on the potty-training thing, going to go for it properly after her 2nd birthday... For now we just try it twice a day to get her used to the potty seat. Sometimes she pees, sometimes she doesn't - but it is definitely helpful in getting her accustomed to going and sitting etc. Once we actually start training I will post a PDF of our potty chart and system. Wish us luck!!)

Dunstan Baby Language

I'm sure most of you heard of the Dunstan Baby Language by now... I first heard about it from my mother, but unfortunately never really bothered to check it out back when Freida was a newborn. Someone (thanks Rach!) just mentioned it again - I never knew her famous debut was on Oprah - and I thought I'd share the wisdom: [googlevideo=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4052428020269668962&hl=iw#]

This should definitely be added to every new-moms essential tools!! That is, in addition to (the completely amazing!!) Dr. Harvey Karp!

Sweet, Sweet William

Got wind of the fact that charming little Sweet William opened a brand new shop in downtown Manhattan on Kenmare off of Lafayette. What sweet news!

New York mom-to-watch, Bronagh Staley, former editor at Cookie Magazine (if you can't tell, I'm still mourning its' end...), opened the original Sweet William shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn a few years ago - featuring small and socially responsible labels this boutique offers a unique, natural, and fanciful spot to pick up children's clothing, gifts, gear, and accessories.

I've been long-time loving the fabulous collection - she simply puts together all the greatest out there - and wanted to spread the word and wish her heaps of luck at the new location:

Masquerade!

We went double-dating to Phantom of the Opera this week with some friends of ours, and had a great night out! I forget how important it is to get out with adults every once in a while... It's just so rejuvenating! I'm such a homebody; I'd rather spend a romantic evening with an old film and some warm apple pie, cuddled up on the living room couch than an evening out. Only after I do actually get out do I realize how good I feel and how integral it is to our well-being as a couple. I always love going to the Pantages! My husband and I had our first actual "date" there, we saw the Lion King - we shared that as a childhood favorite. Since then we've seen a number of wonderful productions (two of my favorites being Fiddler on the Roof and Rain), but Phantom of the Opera, I have to be honest - I don't think I got it. I guess you must be opera-versed or something, because I couldn't make out lots of the dialogue... That being said, the scene "Phantom of the Opera" was one of the most breathtaking, thrilling, and gripping scene ever. Anyways, having the show on my mind - I can't get over how many Phantom-of-the-opera inspired things I've stumbled upon this week!! They're adorable, to boot!! Who would've known a simple mask could be so chic??

1. French Terry Mask T-shirt

2. Cotton Mask Onesie

3. Canvas Mask Messenger Bag

4. Baby/Toddler Burnout Mask Tee

5. Mask Bandanas

6. 14k Gold Mask Necklace
