Headscarf Heaven

I don't know about you, but I have a drawer full of colorful, designer silk scarves that I honestly never wear. I bought them all before I was married, thinking I'd put them to lots of good use with a pair of designer shades, some hoop earrings, and a good bag. I wasn't yet versed in the ins-and-outs of covering my hair... the fact that due to its slip-off texture, silk is quite useless. Well, that was then. Now I have to say, headscarf lovers - rejoice!

Last week, my sister-in-law (thanks Rivky!!) gave me something she wanted me to try; a WiGrip. To be quite honest, I can't say I would have tried it had it not been handed to me. I know it looks rather superfluous (why on earth would we want to add another layer to our already annoyingly covered heads??), but this little number totally and completely rocks!! I reluctantly tried putting it on under a tichel (I usually use bobby-pins to keep them in place), and when I realized how well it works, I whipped out all my silk numbers and got totally turban-happy! I've been having so much fun playing around with all these different looks, prints, and designs. I've been creatively inspired since the Prada turbans walked the runways a few years ago, and more recently by SJP's turban-do in SATC2... so happy to finally have more than two style options when skipping the wig! : )

This WiGrip is fantastic under anything you'd like to keep in place (I wore a silk scarf to the playground with Freida yesterday, and felt like I had nothing on. Even through all our roughhousing, I swear the thing didn't move an inch!). But it was essentially formated to be used under a wig, negating the need for clips and combs - providing more comfort and fewer hair-thinning zones...

You can get one at Milano Collection for $20.

P.S. Check out Katie Cruise rockin' our look!

Designer Diapers

Even Huggie's Denim has got nothing on these potty pants!

It seems Pampers has teamed up with Cynthia Rowley in a collaboration-concept that has never been seen before: designer does disposable. Pampers by Cynthia Rowley will be available in 11 colorful styles (for boys and girls) beginning mid July at Target stores and on Target.com. The diaper collection will be available in pastel designs including madras, stripes and printed ruffles. Rowley was quoted as having said "As a mom, I wanted other moms and dads to have more options in every part of their lives -- even diapers. It's the first piece of clothing your baby will ever wear, and it should be special."

Well, I'm down with that. Come to think of it - as much as I do love the furry little guy - it is high time that Elmo stops being the first thing to greet me in the morning - at the changing table... Diaper-duty just got a whole lot more fun.

Here's a sneek peek at some of the girl/boy designs.

Cheers for Chairs!

I'm such a chair-a-holic (if you haven't yet picked that up from this and that). I just have a thing for chairs. I love 'em. Retro, vintage, modern... but mostly, Mid-Century. The sheer design genius that went on in the Eames era is so astonishingly simple - and yet these seating designs have morphed into iconic symbols. Happened upon this wearable chairs concept from BRUXE; 20th Century chair charms. 10K gold pendants for the chair happy! If Aaron Basha can make shoe pendants classic, what's wrong with a little chair-jewelry-action?? Totally lovin' it!!

The line is called Tiny Little Chairs

While I'm on the hot topic, thought I'd share this beautifully revised film; the Eames Lounge Chair debut on NBC, circa 1956! Enjoy!!

Wonderful Onesies

Love, love, love these Estella striped onesies for boys! Made from the softest of cottons, pre-shrunk, and perfectly fitted. This little number will bring your dude from white gerber baby to punk-rocker lad. Really great for this sticky time of year, when all a babe needs wear is a onesie...

Estella striped onesie $25.00

For those of you in NYC, Estella is a fabulous boutique located in Greenwich Village. But they have an online shop as well, and ship worldwide. ($8 flat rate. Free shipping with $100 purchase.) Check it.

Wee-little Westwoods

I've recently grown fond of the Vivienne Westwood + Melissa shoes. Had my first sighting while browsing for some kicks on Zappos, and they've been on my wish-list ever since (haven't yet justified buying plastic heels... but I've been living in a pair of plastic gladior sandals that I got at (cough, cough) Forever 21 for $5 - and I'm loving them!). And as if those creations weren't cute enough, Melissa and Viv had to go and procure chic-baby-status with the launch of baby shoe line. The "Mini Melissa", a shrinky-dink from two of Westwood’s popular Anglomania designs: the Lady Dragon Bow and Lady Dragon Heart, are sure to emit squeals of delight from Mommy-and-Me lovers (hello, Katie Cruise). Made from Melissa Plastic Dream's famous PVC  breathable plastic; you gotta admit these little toe-tappers came a long way from Crocs. : )

Now, to burst your bubble: they are a ridiculous $100 ($45 less than the adult version?) a pop - but they are so spankin' adorable I wanted to share the cuteness...
