Cuckoo for the Koo

The ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) was held this month in NYC, and of the many designs for kids featured at the fair, I will have to say that my favorite is the Koo, the Bassinet/Rocker from Lunar. Talk about a multi-tasking piece of furniture!  No need for hacks here - this design's got it all in the making (in theory). Here's to helping chistle those late-night-newborn-feedings down to a T - with heaps of room to spare!  

And just for the record; I'm highly smitten with the Paket Table from Offi, as well. (Who doesn't love new things from Offi???)

the Rump that Rocks the Cradle

A new design from Ontwerpduo, the Rockid looks like a lovely little spot to rock and read your warm lil' bundle to sleep...  Sweet dreams mums - it's not available until tomorrow! ; ) You can get your hands on one, here.

P.S. it's not totally impractical - once your mini outgrows the cradle the whole piece can be converted to a rockin' bench... Cheers!

Lighten Up!

Apologies for being rather out of commission recently - been busy with a few new projects and exciting aspirations (details may follow) : ) Other than that, I've been surprisingly busy working to transition Freida's nap from 10am to 12pm. I am still shocked at the amount of diligence it took on my part to keep her nice and distracted enough to ensure she stayed awake. Had to revamp our whole schedule (which had worked so beautifully until now, it was hard for me to admit it needed a reroute)!

While researching some playroom lighting options, I came across a new favorite for children's spaces, offices, reading corners etc. The NUD collection offers this: a meager lightbulb on a simple/spunky chord. And I love it.

Hung in a single file, these make a wonderful minimalist lighting exhibit while adding a subtle pop of color (depending on your choice of cord).  Gathered in a cluster, these lights add a bit of industrial-style-whimsy; clean, chic, and modern.
