Spring Forward

I've been getting my gears into order the past few days, recuperating post-purim-party... All that junk-food supply delegation led to serious pantry organization, and costume re-storage led to restoring some form of order to the storage closet etc. It's been a rather productive 2 days... Purim was a success all it's own. Freida was well-prepared and seriously enjoyed the holiday. And not just for the candy. She was obsessed with the Magillah reading, and struck with Haman-anticipation-syndrome! It was definitely the most exciting thing that transpired in her little world since she got her first drum set. All that legal noisemaking really won her over.

With a bout of feigning to wear her tutu, somehow, her costume went from "Modern Indian" to "Modern Indian Princess" but we rolled with the punches and embraced the new-age fusion. :)

With the commencement of spring this week, came my yearning for some green life 'round the house (aside from my weekly spring Daffodils!), and I went shopping for my first in-house ceramic planter. Now if only I knew what sort of houseplant I want to fill it with....

Isn't that a fabulous design for a planter?? It's handmade in Vietnam by a company called Doan Potters, and evidently they produce some really cheerful and colorful ceramics! Please send any tried-and-true, easy-to-care-for, air-purifying houseplant suggestions this way!!

Happy Spring!!

(Thank you Zalmy Berkowitz for that super-cute shot!!)

P.S. Here's one last hurrah to Mason Jars (via strawberry-rhubarb sauce, corn muffin, and cream cheese frosting)!!

Butterflies: An Edgy Effect

I can't imagine I'm the only one out here who swooned over the gorgeous wall behind Serena's college-era bed in Gossip Girl's season 4. It had a beautiful hypnotic vibe, was girly, yet just edgy enough - even to deck out a living room wall!

For those of you sharing my sentiment, I thought I'd share a link to a fantastic Etsy shop I stumbled upon this week. Hip and Clavicle has designed and created a heaping collection of fanciful paper flights, allowing you to create your very own installation of interior whimsy.

Hot Water

I love when I spot some well-designed version of childhood essentials on the market! Yes, this water table is outrageously overpriced, but just seeing a serious upgrade from the plastic-bulk preschool staples gives me peace of design-mind; for it will eventually trinke down into common-place, affordable, and much-better-looking playspaces. I'm already feeling the summer heat! You can find it in 4 beautiful color combos here.

Playing with Prints

I've stumbled upon these MisseMai images while browsing around out here, and I'm just blown away by the sudden surge of creativity I have in regards to imprinting my wedding invitation onto something more artisitc than a simple print.

Throw pillow got me thinking about bedding, which subsequently turned my thoughts to wallpaper, which led me to land on a laser-cut piece of brass! How incredible would it be to have our own little "family-logo tree" (which was created by the fabulous YossiGraphicDesign for our wedding) boldly exploiting majority of the dining room wall?? What a great way to put the one-time-used wedding monogram (or what have you) to everlasting appreciation...!

Spring Clean with Cheer!

I know it's not even quite Purim yet, but the spring-clean countdown has my mouth watering (I know I'm a freak!)... There are so many home-improvement/organization projects I'd love to get done by the time Pesach rolls around. And the housewares collection over at Alice Supply Co. can have you ringing in the spring season with bright, cheerful, and colorful cleaning supplies. Say bye-bye to ugly and hello to happy!
