Knittin' Kitten

While shopping around for the holidays in the next few weeks, keep in mind the chunky knit goodness of fall 2010. I'm loving all the winter-wear styled socks coupled with the daintiness of a pump - or even better, some patent leather! I'm not the most glamor-loving of girls (e.g. I live in denim, cotton's, and sandals), so I love the fact that that I can dial down a great pair of glamorous shoes by pairing it with some casual knits. So fun!! (Though, I admit the current kitten heels will take some getting used to...)

We've been feeling like we're having a lot of lazy days recently... much too much time spent indoors, and summer's end is just around the corner! Figuring we'd best finish up all that's left on our summer bucket-list, we're heading down south this morning to spend the day at Sea World. Freida's first Shamu Show!! : )

My Space: Redefined

I'm so digging this foldable playspace for kids - the My Space. Pop it up and pack it up - it's playtime sans the spacial anxiety. Created by Liya Mairson, a designer who recently graduated from the Shenkar Institute for Engineering and Design. These phtotos of her cardboard playspace have been all over the web this week, so I hit her site and checked out the rest of her portfolio - she is one talented young lady ! (Have a look at her espresso+milk set. Awesome.)

Peas Please!

Alright, this is super random, but when I figured this out I found myself wishing some seasoned mom had let me in on the secret... So I'm just sharing the discovery. Frozen Peas.

Freida never swallowed a single pea in her little life. At 5 months old she spit out the pea puree over and over again, at 9 months old she spit-shot little steamed peas out of her mouth and onto the floor, and at 15 months old (don't know why I didn't just give it up!) she actually scratched the pea remnants (after spitting it out) off her tongue!

I so wanted her to like peas! Aside from broccoli she really doesn't get many green veggies in her diet (she doesn't chew leafy greens very well), and peas are such an easy on-the-go protein to sneak into any mealtime/snacktime.

Well, today she loves peas. Frozen peas. We've dubbed them "ice cream peas", and she's obsessed. Victory. Was worth the wait... easy vitamins, fiber, and protein all rolled into one teeny tiny pea.

Try it, they'll like it. (Maybe.)

Some Street-Cred for the Kids

I'm loving this fabulous collection of "street-wear" for the little ones. Appaman has been dubbed as "Brooklyn inspired clothing for kids", and this Norwegian designer really got the urban-chic thing damn straight! Who could pass up European quality coupled with Big City style?? Here's what I mean:
