Weekend Round-up!

What are you up to this weekend? I've been breathing in some fresh free air - I have a week or two in between work projects and it feels so good to have no deadlines this week and just to take it slow and easy... On the other hand, in my free time I've been thinking about and chalking up some "family goals" for the summertime (give Freida swimming lessons, start Hudi on solids, lose 10 pounds, sleep-train both girls etc.), and while it's lots like a bucket list - it's not nearly as much fun, and much, much more rewarding. While I take a break from thinking about goals, here are a few things I thought you might enjoy:

- Do you watch Parks and Recreation? I just love Amy Poehler!!

- This totally made me laugh!

- The cutest DIY play kitchen ever!!

- Taking color-wheels for granted...

- How genius are Tube toys?

- I'm smitten by dots.

- 50 shades of fabulous :)

- Hoping Freida goes for Gazpacho - summer lunch at it's best!

- What guy wouldn't love to entertain with these as cocktail kickers?

Anyways, enjoy your weekend - hope it's filled with heaps of summer-y promise!

P.S. There is no ice cream in town better than this guy's! I swear - you'll be in old-school creamery heaven!

Garden of Your Mind

My brother posted this video of a Mister Rogers remix done by Symphony of Science's John Boswell for PBS Digital Studios) on my wall, and I'm totally digging it! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzXaFbxDcM]

Freida has never seen Mr. Rogers, and as a kid I remember groaning in annoyance when the Mr. Rogers theme song started up on PBS (11am was not a good time for me while playing hooky!), but I assume I was older than the target age for this specific broadcast. I'm curious to see how Freida would respond to the slow and gentle vibe of the Fred Rogers show since she is already a seasoned generation X child - accustomed to fast-paced kid shows like Yo Gabba Gabba, Team Umizoomi,  and Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!... I'm going to go on a library quest and try to find some high-definition Mr. Rogers DVDs to try out on her once school is out (this Thursday!) and we jump-start "Mommy Camp". :)

365 Grateful

I got some interesting feedback on my birthday post. It seems these moments of reflection and gratitude seem to ignite some form of inspiration for everyone... Many women told me how reading it changed the way they looked at their morning; their day; their children. I know it works for me - in essence it's the whole reason I started this blog: to journal, document, and reflect on what I'm grateful for. And it has worked wonders! As mothers, wives, and homemakers, our lives become so busy, rushed, and non-stop that we seldom get the opportunity to stop, reflect, and celebrate! We just keep going and going...! I wanted to share with you a project - one of the most wonderful projects I have ever happened upon, in the hopes that you can take something for yourself out from the general concept, and increase the quality of your happiness.

I want to start this myself, care to join me? Plus, Instagram makes this cake! :)

Water for Elephants

While this elephant may be rather large, it's still a baby. And I've still got baby-fever. :) How insanely cute and amazing are these photos?!

Tomorrow I'm heading out with Manasseh for my birthday (a little belated, I know :)), and these photos reminded me of our evening out last year... Can't believe how much has happened since then!! Dubai, a pregnancy, a move, a job, a project, a birth... phew! :)
